Lily Jo
2010 - 2025
Finding Lily Jo was truly a miracle. While visiting family in Dallas I had a dream one night in August 2010 where I heard a voice telling me that "there is a dog who needs you."
The next afternoon a woman called my cousin who is a vet tech.
The woman asked my cousin Bridget if she was able to watch her dog for a week.
I quickly asked bridget to ask if she needed a home for the dog.
A very strange question, but surprisingly the woman said yes. She said the puppy was just 6 months old and had already had 4 homes but she was not able to keep her.
I said, "tell her that I will keep her."
That afternoon, the puppy arrived. The second our eyes met I was overjoyed. She was very shy but came right into my arms.
Over the next 16 1/2 years I had the sweetest, most loyal and loving dog that I could ever hope for. She was precious in every way. We lived in Connecticut and there were several hiking trails. My favorite memories of Lily Jo were how much she loved to go hiking, which we did year round. She went on vacations to Colorado, Long Island and Florida with us. She loved running on the beaches but never ran far from our sight.
My daughter played basketball and several tournaments were throughout the East Coast. She was always content to be wherever we were. We never had a problem with her whining, barking or scratching when she was left alone. Somehow she knew wholeheartedly that she was in a loving home and we'd always be there for her.
No words can describe my love for this little angel...she was a dog who came along by needing us; the love she brought in return cannot be measured. RIP Lily girl - until we meet again.💕
